What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it and how to get rid of it. No jargon and no sleight of hand.

We collect what we need to coach you and nothing else. We do not sell your data and never will. Our visitor statistics are cookieless. We do run Meta’s advertising pixel, which sets a cookie, and section 3 tells you exactly what it does and how to stop it.
Balanceie Coaching, run by Jamie Wright, is the data controller. Contact jamie@balanceie.com or +44 7393 672271 about anything on this page.
To complete: registered company name and number if applicable, and ICO registration number. Most UK businesses processing personal data electronically must pay the ICO data protection fee.
Your first name, email address, your answers about how you currently eat, train, sleep and manage stress, and optionally your current and goal weight. We use it to generate your results, email you a copy, and follow up.
Lawful basis: consent, which you give by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time.
Your name, email, phone number, which plan you want, your primary goal, how often you train and anything you tell us in the notes box.
Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
What you tell us about your health, medication, body composition, blood markers where you share them, food logs, training records and wearable data. This is health data, which the law treats as needing extra care. We collect it only because it is what coaching is built on, we ask for it explicitly, and you can decline any of it.
Lawful basis: performance of our contract, and your explicit consent for the health data specifically.
Your name and email. Unsubscribe from any email and you are removed.
Lawful basis: consent.
Plausible and Cloudflare Web Analytics tell us how many people visit and which pages they read. Both are cookieless, neither stores anything personal, and neither can identify you.
Meta pixel. This tells Meta you visited, so we can show ads to people like you and measure whether our advertising works. It sets a cookie and can recognise you on other sites that also use Meta’s tools. It loads when you open the site.
You can stop it. Most browsers let you block third party cookies in settings, and extensions such as uBlock Origin, AdGuard or Ghostery block it outright, as does Brave. Doing any of that changes nothing about how this site works for you. You can also opt out of Meta’s advertising through your Meta ad preferences.
If you would rather we removed you from it entirely, email jamie@balanceie.com and we will.
We use these companies to run the service. Each only gets what it needs, and none may use your data for their own purposes.
Some of these are based outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK Addendum to Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
We will also share information where the law requires it, or where there is a genuine risk to someone's life.
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, hand it over in a portable format, stop using it for a particular purpose, or restrict what we do with it. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect anything done before.
Email jamie@balanceie.com and we will respond within one month. It costs nothing.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
This service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Data is held in the systems listed above, each of which uses encryption in transit and at rest. Access is limited to those who need it to coach you. No system is perfect, and if a breach ever put your rights at risk we would tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will email you. The date at the top always tells you which version you are reading.
